Meet Elizabeth

Elizabeth and her husband, Derek, moved to the beautiful community of Fall River in 2020. Since moving to the area four years ago, she has been an active community volunteer and has served as the Secretary of the Lakeview-Windsor Junction-Fall River Ratepayers Association, Director of the Fall River and Riverlakes Lions Club Christmas Express Food Hamper Program, Member of the Fall River Garden Club, and Co-Chair of the Keloose Community Festival.

Like many who move to Nova Scotia, Elizabeth and her family have experienced the challenges of finding primary care. Despite living here for four years, she and her husband have struggled to be permanently attached to a family doctor. Her family’s challenges with the healthcare system have inspired her to advocate for better in Nova Scotia. Since moving to the area four years ago, the community of Waverley-Fall River-Beaver Bank has welcomed her with open arms. Elizabeth is excited to have the opportunity to give back to her neighbours by putting her name on the ballot.

Prior to moving to Nova Scotia, Elizabeth earned a degree in Engineering Studies from Carleton University and currently serves as a member of the Dalhousie Women in Engineering Mentorship Program. In 2021, she retired from a successful 33-year career with Canada Post where she managed national-scale projects that included union consultations, third party contracts, and business process improvements.
